Ulsan Data Center: 100MW Power Grid Assessment Update

MGNT Partners is pleased to share an update on the data center development project in Eonyang-eup, Ulju-gun, Ulsan, where we serve as advisor. The project has filed a 154kV / 100MW power grid impact assessment with KEPCO (Korea Electric Power Corporation) and has recently received technical confirmation that the requested power supply is feasible.
Why This Matters: Grid Capacity Is the Real Bottleneck
According to CBRE Korea’s July 2026 report, 10 of 522 first-stage technical review applications in the Seoul metropolitan area had received final power-supply approval as of March 2026. This represents 1.9% of applications by number, not 1.9% of the 33,592MW requested. Securing large-scale, confirmed power capacity is the single biggest bottleneck for data center development in Korea today, which makes this technical clearance a meaningful and scarce achievement.

Ulsan is already emerging as a strategic hub for large-scale AI data center development by leading Korean conglomerates.
